Software usage statistics

See how much time you spend in Nephele and associated drawing apps. Usage tracking is separate from process recording; no video session is required.

Enable tracking

1. Open Data Center → Software Usage.
2. Turn on automatic recording. This experimental feature is optional and must be enabled explicitly.
3. In Settings, choose an idle threshold of 3, 5 or 10 minutes without input.
4. Pause recording when needed, then resume later.

Tracking continues while Nephele is in the system tray and stops when you quit. Idle and unrecorded periods are excluded from application usage totals.

Read the timeline

Choose a day, the last seven days, month, year or a custom range. Pan and zoom the daily timeline, switch between application totals and individual intervals, or filter by application.

Application usage is not the same as time actively drawing. For stroke counts, sittings and work archives, see Process Recording and Drawing Statistics.

What is recorded

Nephele and associated drawing apps are identified; other apps are grouped as Other. Window titles, filenames and webpage URLs are not recorded. Records stay on this computer until you clear them.

Export, back up and clear

• Export Current Summary saves the selected statistical report.
• Full Backup preserves restorable records; it serves a different purpose from a summary export.
• Restore Backup replaces current records after validation and first saves a pre-restore copy.
• Clear All Records removes records and pre-restore backups permanently. It does not change the automatic-recording setting.

If the report is empty, check whether tracking is enabled or paused and use the app for a while. Time before tracking was enabled cannot be reconstructed.
