Color Picker
You're halfway through a painting, you spot a color somewhere on screen that you want to use, and the normal workflow is: screenshot, open a color picker, eyeball the match, copy the HEX, switch back to your canvas, paste. The Color Picker collapses that whole chain into a single move—press a hotkey, click once, and the color is already in your foreground color.
What it does
The Color Picker is a full-screen eyedropper. Once triggered, the screen enters picking mode and a magnifier follows your cursor—whatever you click, that's the color you grab. The color you pick will:
- Copy to the clipboard (
#RRGGBB), ready to paste in any app - Write straight into CLIP Studio Paint's foreground color—if it has a canvas open
In other words, for CLIP Studio Paint users, you don't paste anything after picking—the color is already loaded on your brush.
提示
The Color Picker is currently a Windows-only feature.
How to use it
Two ways to trigger it:
- Global hotkey: defaults to
Ctrl + Shift + I(you can change it under Settings → Hotkeys). It works even when the app is in the background - Astrolabe wheel: double-tap
Ctrlto summon the Astrolabe and choose "Pick Color"
Once triggered:
- The screen switches to picking mode and a magnifier appears next to your cursor, showing the pixel under it and its color value in real time
- Move over the color you want and left-click to pick it
- Done—the color is copied to the clipboard and (when CLIP Studio Paint is in the foreground) written into the foreground color
- Changed your mind? Press
ESCor right-click to cancel
Picking precision is single-pixel (the one at the center of the magnifier). Besides the HEX value, the floating panel also shows the color's RGB / HSL / HSV values.
First time with CLIP Studio Paint: one restart needed
"Write into the foreground color" works by borrowing CLIP Studio Paint's on-screen eyedropper shortcut. The first time you pick a color, Nephele automatically sets up this shortcut inside CSP for you, then prompts you to close and restart CLIP Studio Paint once. The binding only takes effect after the restart, after which picking a color will write into the foreground color automatically.
You only have to do this once. If the setup fails (for example, CSP isn't installed, or its config file is locked), it doesn't affect picking itself—the HEX still goes to your clipboard, and you just paste it manually.
技巧
Automatic writing requires CLIP Studio Paint to be running with a canvas open. If the target software isn't CSP, the Color Picker just does "pick the color + copy the HEX," and you paste it manually into any color picker you like.
