Browser download prompts and installation

If Edge says the installer “isn’t commonly downloaded”, first confirm it came from this official website, then follow these steps.

  1. Open your downloads

    Ctrl + J…Keep

    Find the NepheleWorkshop installer and open the menu beside the file.

  2. Keep the installer

    Show moreKeep anyway

    Confirm with “Keep anyway”. Some versions place this option inside a “…” menu.

  3. Help report a false positiveOptional

    …Report this file as safe

    If you believe the warning is incorrect, follow Microsoft’s reporting instructions. Reporting does not keep the file; you do not need to wait for a review to download.

These steps apply to the “isn’t commonly downloaded” reputation warning. If a specific virus or Trojan is named, stop installation and contact us to investigate.

After installation

The app, models and interface have separate update paths.

First launch and model downloads need internet access. Assets and recordings require additional space.

How does Windows update?

The app checks for updates and downloads changed files in the background, using patches for some large files. Downloaded updates are applied on a normal exit or at the next launch; you can also restart when prompted. It may update automatically when all app windows are hidden or minimized and your computer is idle.

How does Mac update?

The current Beta has no in-app app or interface updates. Return here for new releases, quit the app, then replace Nephele Workshop.app in Applications. macOS may ask you to confirm opening or grant permissions again.

What happens to my assets and settings?

Updates replace program files. Settings live in a separate user-data folder, and your assets stay in your libraries. Finish recordings and active tasks before updating, and keep regular backups of important work.
